  1. Re:xbox piracy on Microsoft Talks Handhelds, Xbox Linux · · Score: 1

Well, the thing is that with the EULA you don't have to sign anything...hell anymore if you just SEE it you're bound to it unless you burn the XBox and commit ritual suicide. I'm not a huge fan of EULAs, I think they are bullshit, but the courts have upheld them so they are law even if it is complete bullshit. The reason they've been upheld is that they are a necessary evil...they're legal for practical reasons rather than legal ones (and ofcourse if the practical reasons ever go in YOUR favor (as a consumer) its questionable whether the courts will uphold whatever you want). I'm ranting, sorry.

  2. Would be nice on WiMax Formed To Promote 802.16 Standard · · Score: 1

I would love to see them put a few towers in my area, I can't get DSL or cable (TV, let alone internet) so something like this would be ideal for a sparsely populated rural area like mine.

  3. I would kill for something like this in my home on 2gbps Wireless Network Rollout this Summer · · Score: 1

I would love something like this in my home, even if it was at 144k/s. I'd love DSL or Cable or anything with decent downloads and good pings. Sadly I doubt I'll see this come to little Camden WV, where basically putting broadband out here would justify the cost of doing it because all of 4 people (and maybe a couple cows and sheep) would subscribe. I hope for the day that maybe they either put a remote DSLAM out here or replace the current SLC-96 with a Litespan. Anybody know if that Verizon Virtual Office ISDN is any good?

  4. What I like about scape on Farscape Fans Reinventing Television · · Score: 1

One of the things I really love about Farscape, is the fact that the people doing it aren't afraid to punish the protagonist for his good intentions. I mean, when you have the hero trying to do the right thing or whatever and you make it actually the very worst thing he could do and you have it all blow up in his face...that can make for some pretty interesting story telling. Its the idea that no matter how good our intentions are, the actions we take have consequences that we have to live with. Its the idea that, whether you're fixing the time-line on some planet to save the universe or you're trying to help the mujahadine to protect their home from the Soviets...the end result might not be as good as your intentions. I also really really like the character of Scorpius, especially after the "Incubator" episode where they explained his motivations and ended up making him a much more complex character (and arguably a tragic hero rather than a RichardIII type villain).

  5. I would sooo frelling kill for this! on 100mbps Fiber Service To Your Door · · Score: 1

I would love to see something like this show up in my area of WV...hell, I'd kill for IDSL. Imagine the great pings you could get with this! (being behind a frelling SLC and unable to get DSL, and being 1 mile away from cable of any sort SUCKS)

  6. If only they provided it to my home. on McDonalds to go Wireless? · · Score: 1

If they put up a huge antennae (mispelled, I know), with a 20 (or hell 8) mile range that could reach my home with even ISDN speed access, I'd sell my soul for it...I'd let them make me into the goatse man for it...I'd contract kill people (working at burger king I assume) for it! Seriously though, did I mention that I wish I had access to broadband :D.
