No, it doesn't. All that it requires is a conventional DVD player that can skip around the film according to rules listed in a file.
Ummm, I have never seen a software controlled 'conventional DVD player', and why bother with that when you can just convert it to a divx, or mpeg? All you need is: /* efdtt.c Author: Charles M. Hannum */ /* Usage is: cat title-key scrambled.vob | efdtt >clear.vob */
#define m(i)(x[i]^s[i+84])y)c+=y=i^i/8^i>>4^i>>12,i=i>>8^y >14,y=a^a*8^a>8^y/n."[k>>4]*2^k*257/8,s[j]=k^(k&k* 2&34)
*6^c+~y;}}
and some time...
The downside lies in the fact that in order to edit the DVD it must be converted into an editable format first (dcCSS anyone?). The Movie industry does not wish for anyone to 'break' their 'encryption' by descrambling DVD's no matter why they are doing it.
I can and do expect that I will not have the terms of service changed on me after they have been agreed to by both myself and the other party.
If one is selling a service for a length of time, then one had better be damn sure that they can provide THAT service for THAT length of time for THAT price.
It is especially wrong when a corporation after having offered certain terms tries to change those terms by changing the EULA one must accept to apply a patch to a 'buggy' system that should never have been unleashed on the consumer in the first place. (winBlows service packs spring to mind )
I guess my point is, screw their business model... I demand that promises(contracts) be kept!
It is foolish to even consider this. Until last week I didn't have cable, or satellite. I got along fine with five channels, and I think that the percentage of the population who lives like me is probably higher than you think. Maybe shrinking the available frequency range would make sense, but doing away with it would be madness.
This whole copyright thing makes me want to denounce my rights as an Amerikan. Lately I have been feeling more, and more ashamed to be from this country. Our laws are pathetic.
At least Eldred is trying to do something to make the country better!

You mark my words, we'll see nVidia's tanks rolling over Poland by Christmas...
Dont worry, ATI will save us! Err... Or was that enslave us? I can never remember...
OpenMosix will not migrate any process which uses shared memory unless you use the (sorry MAASK)unstable 'migshm' patch from http://mcaserta.com/maask/. MySQL uses shared memory. I tried it.
Of course you are correct about that. I should have phrased my post more carefully. The point I was trying (poorly) to communicate was that we need new SOURCES of power not new ways to store power. Unless it is several orders of magnitude more efficient, not just little bits. These little bits of improvement here and there, are frustrating and pointless. We all know that someone somewhere has a real solution, and is left without the funding or has been 'disappeared'. Think I'm wearing a tinfoil hat? Try browsing the patent archives sometime. There are a lot of amazing inventions in there that never saw the light of day for one reason or another.
All hydrogen is good for is a more efficient battery. This is nothing but a way to transport the geothermal energy more efficiently than current batterys will allow. Woop!

Looks like someone is scared of somebody elses lawyers. Yuck! This is obviously Futuremark trying to appease Nvidia.
