Maybe nVidia should stick with their own tech; seeing as the GfFX was a continuation of 3dFx's latest project before they died. Hopefully in the future, nVidia won't rely on other companies tech to create their own, and the next generation video cards will perform a lot better with the specs that they have than what the GfFX is doing right now.
I don't understand this heat thing with pentium 4's. My 2.8ghz p4 runs a whole lot cooler than my 1700+, with identical HSF's (Thermaltake Volcano 7+). I don't even have to run the fan higher than low (2000rpm) on the p4, but i have to keep it at a constant high (6000rpm) on the athlon, just to keep it at 95*F. The p4 runs under 84*F, on low, and under load, it creeps up to 90-95*F. I've had temperatures in the 70-75*F range when the fan was on high, In the same exact case that the athlon was in.
To my knowledge OSX can still run many Mac Classic apps. Would you like it if Apple said, "you know all that software you bought for your system? None of it will work now. Buy OSX enabled versions instead.
Using OSX right now, I can say that while OSX does support Mac Classic apps, it doesn't support it completely. You have to have OS9 installed in order to use the Classic environment. Anyhow, the only real use I've found, and other people that I know have found, for the Classic environment is for programming and developing. Other than that, the new OSX programmes I have to buy are definitely worth it, if only my mac was faster...
