Industrial is my genre. Some of my older stuff can be found as Rusted Metal Tears (RMT; VERY old stuff), Rebel Cascade, SHAX, or the new and final band name "Social Engineer". Or just "Will":)
Well, indie guys like me are booming! I sell CDs for 5 bucks a pop (my latest was a compilation album of my first 3 albums plus new stuff, 19 tracks), and tell EVERYBODY to rip their favorite tracks to their HD for P2P users. And that is how I get known with minimal cost.
My mother and I used to do peoples' taxes using Turbo Tax. It really increased our productivity, until she started having so many issues with Turbo Tax (it was getting slow primarily). We switched to Tax Act and never looked back (although now I'm no longer helping her since I'm off at college) - I'm glad we switched when we did after I had heard about the copy protection bit a while ago.
Why Intuit chose it's methods for protection is beyond me - THINK OF THE BOOT LOADERS!
Ok, if you are actually going to spring for indoor plumbing (read: A place to poop), how are you going to get it there? What if the tree tips over and fecal matter starts shooting everywhere? *shudder*
Trees should be left to monkeys and little kids. They don't use the bathroom anyways.
No joke. I've always been a huge supporter of just about any company who will release a game for free and/or release it's source. I can't say that those games actually still make them money or not, because I haven't ever looked into that, but it's a huge boost towards community support for the company whenever this happens.
...There was a POS Cyrix based machine (200mhz cyrix processor, 16mb ram, 2.1 gig HD, Cirrus Logic based gfx card, and OPL based soundcard). I decided that I wanted to up the video card - So I bought a Diamond Stealth II s220 (With good ole' Rendition support) and slapped the sucker in. Worked fine... For about 3 months. Then the sucker ignited for a few seconds, burned the hard-drive, and the motherboard. Swapped the thing out and put in a new card, worked for a few weeks. Swapped the mobo out and used on-board video, worked great for another year. Then, for some odd reason, the hard drive gave up:)
The machine worked for a total of 2 years.

Heh, no, I'm not a troll :) I just am not very well educated on the subject and figured I would make a semi-amusing comment. Forgive my ignorance.
