  1. They won't be undercut on What The RIAA Gets Out Of File Sharing · · Score: 5, Insightful

The RIAA is making the single mother of a 12 year old pay thousands to settle. Does anyone really think that they are just going to allow their plot to be undercut? Clearchannel and the RIAA run a tight squeeze on music and it won't change without some serious consumer action and hopefully federal litigation.

I think a few new books on Windows security will be coming out soon to take advantage of the latest worms. But its the nature of the open-source community to continually test each other that ultimately leads to security excellence.

  3. no OS for u! on Opencroquet · · Score: 1

If the website load time is any indication of the OS run-time, I think I'll stick with a 2-D interface. My question is why not just a 3-D Xwindows interface? Or just a 3-D desktop environment? If the OS is 3-D, does that mean that the kernel is 3D, or just the GUI?

Thanks for the response. I don't recall saying that getting market share is wrong, but I'm not surprised to see people hair-triggered to assume others are. Please try to use a little more intelligent sarcasm for the benefit of all.

Thats exactly right. And thats where they made enough money so that a 90% loss is actually no loss at all. They gained market share which is M$ #1 priority.

  9. Truly artistic on The Contiki Desktop OS for C64, NES, 8-bit Atari, · · Score: 2, Insightful

This is what I call making a point! The very concept of a multitasking OS and web browser/server on a C64 or ATARI is the greatest thing the coding community could do to show how much waste and politics has sucked itself into technology. Not only that, but this OS might even be portable to a watch-sized machine.
