I do dual boot. With the linux/windows combination however, I only need to reboot half the time, since some games are available for it, or can be used with winex. Under FreeBSD (back then) this was not possible.. bar basic 2D games.
Your methods may work, but they certainly are not "nice". Have you _used_ Gentoo Portage?
(And yes I was a FreeBSD user for about a year, and it was great:-) switched back to Linux because of the Nvidia driver situation back then (I NEED GAMES!), but now that drivers are available I might give it another try soon)
PLEASE stop whoring the "SOHO" acronym. It's used in so many places that "SOHO" actually means Jack Shit to anyone until it is explained.
What are you comparing against? Because Gentoo is at least as configurable as FreeBSD. Have you used both?

How about a PC version? Will it be coming out for the X-Box also?
