1996 - present..
Slack -> debian -> RH -> fedora -> corelinux with blfs packages -> oh fsck it, 2003 - 2007 LFS dev version + BLFS -> ubuntu / ubuntu server (current)
tried mandrake and suse, didn't like same for gentoo
currently, vm system running 12.04lts server + 7 vbox vms also running 12.04lts server. Have 12.04lts installed on my desktop and laptop (dual boot systems), but rarely boot because unity just pisses me off.. lol
To buy media center means that you will probably have to purchase through the MS app store.. this means you will have to both create and login to a windows live account and ultimately may end up needing to be logged in to access the media center app.
I installed, it upgraded my 2.06 vms to the new format.. now when I shutdown my vm, it makes my host bluescreen.. nice feature..;>
Works great otherwise..
Create a distributable exe via http://www.uvnc.com/addons/singleclick.html
You can set it for connection ports, etc.. all you need after that is any vnc that is running in listener mode. client runs the exe that was created, connects to the listener machine and displays the remote desk. Client closes exe at teh end of the session and session is teminated and can't be reinitiated from the listener end. Goes through firewalls, routers, etc.. Total cost = 0.. No additional login info needed.. I used to have my clients config vnc server and make connections that way, this is much easier and more secure for them.

ripped out the 32 wrapper + 32bit flash plugin for ff3 .. dropped in the 64bit .. everything worked
not yet, maybe in the future. You can run virtualbox in a 32bit or 64bit host, but can't run a 64bit guest OS.
IN utah, we have Utopia .. the service provided by xmission is $55/mo for a 50mbit fiber connection with a 500gb/mo dl limit ...
Here's the fix http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=596602
