    If you actually include some way of bolstering your assertion you'd have a point. As it is, you simply repeated what is happening; mention one glacier at a time and not mention the other thousands. His point stands.

    So, you think being a drunk is equivalent to having cancer? Those medical professionals who consider alcoholism as being a disease do not share your equation. Ask one.

    A company is under no obligation to "assist the employee with treatment and support" for being an alcoholism. This is not a 'disease' (Webster's #3) that you can catch or occurs to you because of a defective protein.

    This from the son of an alcoholic.

    Well, chum, you don't mind taking their money, do you? Don't like the rules at my company, find another job. It's not like you're being prohibited from leaving such a restrictive environ.

    He says he's "an Internet addict who deserves treatment and sympathy rather than dismissal".

    Sounds like he indeed visited during work hours or he wouldn't have had a reason at all to say this. It's IBM's system and rules. Tuff if you can't keep your hands (mental or physical) out of your pants at the job.

    Will you people spouting this crap take a moment and educate yourselves. You make yourself look pretty stupid when you don't even know the difference between a pesticide and an herbicide.

    The plants are Roundup resistant so the herbicide can be used to kill competing vegetation.

    Not only that, but Monsanto (Roundup) uses a gene already present in plants.

    Referring to Monsanto? If so, incorrect. They are making the plants specifically immune to their herbicide so that less can be used targetedly.

    Provide some links to some relevant high-level studies you've read, please.

    Uh, no. Just like attention deficit, autism is diagnosed more because there's money. Used to be, autism was debilitating, now, it's just a trait and many times hard to find unless you're looking (or want to).
