Every mobile chipset on Earth was already capable of sending MMS when the iPhone came out. and isn't most Bluetooth features just a matter of software profile support?
I don't believe its due to hardware differences.
Apple is just trying to make people buy a iPhone 3G. Why not just say it upfront?
all the nokia n-series phones have gps if i am not wrong.
even non-smartphones from SE/samsung/motorola are jumping on the gps bandwagon. if not for navigation then at least for geotagging photos taken by the camera.
it should be as easy as running a.exe file on windows.
right now its a mess. download a tar/deb/rpm etc or bin, change permissions, run installer in terminal etc etc.
and thats the easy way. normal users don't really enjoy editing text config files in root mode in case u developers haven't noticed.
standardise on a package format for drivers and apps and include ALL the required files in it.
this will eliminate the need for repositories and the whole mess of unupdated apps in the repositories.
and finally add a remove menu to consolidate and allow removal of these apps/drivers.
Apple is buying itself a bargaining chip (pun) for negotiating with Intel on their pc line.
They were able to tell Mot/IBM to f off using Intel. Now they will be able to repeat the same thing to Intel if Intel does not do their bidding. In fact they are in a stronger position since they will be in the CPU business themselves.
fact is that microsoft killed creative's soundcard business with vista. Vista no longer gave dedicated soundcard any advantage over free built-in ones. Now they have to resort to selling drivers, mp3 players and speakers to stay alive. They just sold their HQ building in Singapore. That's how bad creative has fallen.
if you just want XP, you don't have to specifically get the chinese version. the english version can be converted fully to the chinese (menus, programs etc) by downloading the chinese mui from ms. (search for it)
for vista only the ultimate version gets the option.
