Just out of curiosity... I am a CS person, and I would love to know what these "research" operating systems are... I would love to donate my time to them!
sure.... screw copyright laws... who cares about that... let's ignore the probability of a lawsuit... Rob is obviously wealty enough to deal with the lawyers bills...
Er... spandex body suits... Rob, think about your demographic here... do you really want to see a whole bunch of slightly chunky computer geeks in spandex body suits? Oh god... I don't feel so good...
well... here at work, we are currently on a path to support ~60,000 clients concurrently on browser based applications. The server, linux, the database MySQL. It does NOT have nice things like transaction/rollbacks and sub-selects, but I have not found ANYTHING that I couldn't code around. For MASSIVE raw speed, data mining, data warehousing, you can't beat MySQL.
Here is a stretch, but if there are any lawyers out there, is this even viable? Or is this an attempt on AOL's part to just cause so much trouble that AT&T just decides to change the message instead of wasting money on legal battles?
I guess my question is: just how much money are they going to make out of me preordering the CD's for 12 bucks... I mean, if they would just rather I donated 5 bucks, it might be in their best interest to just say so...
What I don't understand is the concept that some people have that the website is no longer owned by someone if it becomes popular. It was scoop's website, granted he took the chance that people might dislike his work, but it is NOT the communities web site, it is HIS. To all of the people that work their asses off on a site, and then go unapreciated, I apologise.
just out of curiosity... any chance for a SINGLE example?

Anyone know any good places to buy used amigas and/or video toasters? If they aren't much, I would be interested in getting ahold of one.
