...mostly. Verisign (& presumably the rest of their group - Thawte, Geotrust) and Comodo didn't issue it - their systems never allowed null characters in subjects.
Some evidence so far (as this isn't the first time it's come up, just the first to be published like this and as with so much at Blackhat, sensationalised) points to Globalsign as the issuing CA, although I'd be surprised if they hadn't fixed it by now.
The US is a more violent country in general than many other industrial nations, guns have nothing to do with it.
No, I think guns have a lot to do with it. As Eddie Izzard said - you can't kill people walking up to them and shouting 'bang!'. It just doesn't work. And don't go blaming your 'violent country' or 'violent past' - it's bullshit.
Look at the statistics. People died from bullets coming out of guns. The reason doesn't really matter...less guns, less fatalities from shootings.
I had a similar problem a while back - I jumped in and bought my 12" PB just before they speed-bumped it. To be honest, it hasn't made too much difference, it's still far and away the best laptop I've ever used. Just get enough RAM!!
The thing is really, there isn't ever a 'best' time to buy anything like this. Look at the PC market - we have new motherboards, cpu's etc. coming out all the time. At least with Apple its fairly regular that they do major updates, usually at MacWorld time!
I think the best time will be very soon. Wait till they release Tiger, and start shipping it on the Minis (or just get one and pay for the upgrade). The Mini is the cheapest Mac available, and you can re-use all your old monitor/mouse/keyboard etc. Hell, even if you dont like it as a proper desktop, there's still the media-centre/server thing everyone seems keen to turn these babies into.....
I had been searching for this for a long time myself, and found... http://gotovnc.dynalias.com/
Totally recommended. Rudi there has made a package of UltraVNC that is a single exe, no-install system.
Basically, you download a zip file with some configs and bitmaps in, and customise them. I got a free dyndns alias to use for this purpose. Then you upload the files, and you get back a 160KB.exe that you can send you your client/brother/friend etc.
They run it, and it establishes a reverse-vnc connection to the server you specify. You have to be running vncviewer in listen mode, natch.
It works a treat, and even has optional encryption and file transfer. A brilliant tool.

Surely not too hard for you to understand, eh?
