I've been unable to find out anything about his son on the web. I too am ultra curious as to what happened, especially giving that he gets you so close to his family situation throughout the book, talking about his son numerous times. Other than a crass "Hey, loved your book...what happened to your kid" correspondence with him directly, I'm not sure how to find out. Post any info you come across.
