I had a part-time programming job during my BS and MS degrees. I came from a school who taught COMPUTER SCIENCE, not just COMPUTER PROGRAMMING. I found that local employers who wanted PROGRAMMERS preferred graduates from the smaller, less reputable school down the road because they only taught PROGRAMMING. Admittedly, most of them could code circles around me, but they also struggled with other issues.
Of course, one of my bosses (graduate of the smaller school) was blown out of his mind when I showed him some existing code that I could improve from O(n^3) to O(n log n). He was even more surprised when I could prove it to him.
I would beware of these types of differences.
Different schools have different reputations. I would talk to some local employers and see what type of reputation your school has. Maybe your father is right. What's best for you is going to depend on what type of job you want in the long run.
This is great, but is there any word on how much methanol something like this would go through? More importantly, when are Radio Shack and K-Mart going to begin distributing methanol? I'll need to pick some up on my way out of town.
As a family, we travel a lot during the summer. If California and Oregon were to start this type of program, this would certainly get us off the road. My wife and I are both email addicts, and it would give the kids some run-around time as well. As it is, we try to go for 4 or 5 hours without stopping if we can.
This doesn't work well with a 4-year old a 2-year old and a newborn.
Once again - free internet saves the day!!
Perhaps this would stifle RIAA claims of "monetary damage" resulting from illegal electronic re-distribution.

3's and 4's?? are you kidding?? How many tsp to a tbsp? How many tbsp's to a cup? How many cups to a pint? How many pints to a gallon?
... and if you DO know the answers to these questions...
I don't know. When I do need to know, I'm glad I have google.
I'd rather just deal with nice 10's all the way around.
