(mica) have a huge resource constraint problem.
I have been working on motes for the past two years..The sound sensors are really really weak and inaccurate.
We have been trying to get accurate sound sensor readings for a long time. Say you are applying varying amplitude of sound near a mote. Though the readings changes, they are neither linear nor follow a consistent pattern..
anyway, there is a long way in terms of the OS design and sensors..
Having dedicated my entire master's research for figuring out how to make it easier for the non techies to program and use computers, the support for command line looks kinda strange to me........
Anyway, I am sure the command line is something which will get extinct eventually..This is what my research is doing..Allow people to load images and the GUIs will figure out the properties..
for example, you want to describe a ferrari in your program, you don't have to figure out logic and work out the boolean algebra and properties of the ferrari..just load the image of a ferrari...
One of the factors to note is that the Average inidan GDP is on the increase and with one billion people, even if 20% can afford cell phones that is a huge market. I happen to many people who are ditching land phones and taking cell phones in india.

I hope they are using new protocols in this thing, instead of just copying the GPS system. Anish Kadavil
