Yeah copying/moving would be fine... I'm talking about actually converting the partition in-place from NTFS to FAT32, which has been known to be slightly risky. Might be a good idea to just get another drive and do it your way...
Yeah, I'm in a similar situation... I've been thinking about it for a while, and the only viable option really is FAT32 at the moment. There are some rudimentary ReiserFS drivers for windows, but they're all read-only unfortunately. My problem is that I already have around 120 gigs of data sitting on an NTFS partition, and I really don't want to risk an NTFS->FAT32 conversion on it... I think I might end up just waiting for stable NTFS read/write in Linux... although ideally I'd prefer my data to be on a native Linux partition (since thats the OS its going to be accessed most from).
Options are very limited at the moment unfortunately.
Well said that man. Thats been my point exactly for a while, and these last few years I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to get others to see my viewpoint. (My site.) I'm glad there are more of us in this world.
*sigh*
its this "us vs. them" mentality which depresses and scares me. i live in England, but do i want what's best for England? nope. do i want whats best for Britain, or Europe, or even "The West"? nope.
i want whats best for HUMANITY... why is there so much competition about this sorta thing? to gain a military and economic advantage? why are people so damn selfish? why does anyone want their country to succeed at the expense of others? as far as i can see, any form of nationalism is just a tribalistic throwback from our evolution, and is more of a hindrance to progress now than anything else...
why can't countries SHARE their tech? and everything else, for that matter? it would sure make it a lot easier for us to do stuff like establish permanent bases on the moon, because we wouldn't all have to research the same stuff...
ahh well, call me a naive hippy dreamer if you like, but i think a completely nation-less utopia would a nice base to build scientific research on...
You can get the quicktime alternative from www.k-lite.tk. it lets you watch quicktime and realmedia movies with media player classic, a homemodded version of microsoft's media player 6 series.
"fucked to hell" My, what an interesting way to get there.
