Would you like to know why everyone throws a tizzy over sex in the media?

No really, would you like to know the real reason?

If you care to actually hear the other side of the story, then please hear me out. Understand that I find this to be an incredible non-issue, and I happen to stand firmly on the side of the First Amendment. I just feel like nobody is really getting while people get upset with sex/nudity in the media.

First off, there are still many people in America who feel the sex is a special thing reserved for two people truly in love. They don't like the idea of just having sex for the fun of it. They feel that sex is, for lack of a better word, "sacred". Some may not agree, but I can at least understand this.

Second, the way that sex in the media tends to be portrayed is not as a beautiful thing shared between two people deeply in love. Instead it is a fling, or simply a lustful act. This is something that upsets many parents, because they DO know that the things their children see will affect how they think. And no matter what you may think, parents can not always control what their children see. I personally feel that if sex was presented in a real loving way in the media, instead of a lustful way, that a lot of parents would allow their children to view such material.

Does this mean the government should intervene in any way? Of course not! But before you start the "sex in the media should be seen by everyone!" argument, at least understand what the other side thinks, instead of what you think they think.
