Isn't Internet access heavily subsidized in Canada?
When we were up there on vacation, there were
Internet access terminals (a PC on dialup) in
every small town, for rent at $2CDN per HOUR.
(Compared to about $0.20/min here in the US)
The literature on display at several of the
terminals said that the Canadian government
was placing the terminals all over the country
to make the Internet accessible to everyone.
Fabulous idea!

THANK YOU!! I have gotten so sick of Flash spam on websites that I could not have adequately expressed it.
Oh! I just had a warm basking-in-the-open-source-goodness moment.
