You have never had to deal with a couple hundred sites running on IIS then. Virtual hosting on this platform is a real pain because it is suggested that you bind a single IP to every "Web". The admin tools are Goouie. You can't order the "Webs" in a fashon other than the order they were created in the "Management Console". I will take http.conf any day of the week;)
I agree that the serial interface would be the biggest pain. I wonder if the API to their interface is avaliable. For that matter, I have found very little information on how to _PROPERLY_ speak to serial devices. Guess I havent looked hard enough;)

Well there is one thing you forgot about with *DSL. Most ISPs will not route a subnet to your local wire. Also the terms of service for many ISPs will not allow you to run services on *DSL connects. But having your own IPs and bandwidth to do with as you wish is a really cool feeling. I work for an ISP and have a dedicated ISDN connection with a/27 subnet, its neat:)
If they are distributing this software, THEY ARE DISTRIBUTING IT. The GPL does not say _ANYTHING_ about internal, external, public or private distributions of GPL software. Nor does it talk about alpha, beta or point releases.
I have a question about what appears to be a problem with the scheduler in the 2.2.x kernels.
Is the scheduler in 2.4.x going to allow linux to work well with multiple NICs ?? This is where the finger was pointed at over the Mindcraft "benchmark", from what I understand.
Will we be able to show Microsoft what a fully functional battle station looks like with 2.2.4??;)
Gee, my disto has libc5 in a place where it plays nice with libc6. And no I dont want to debate like an adult because I dont really care about your meaningless FUD.
->And a good admin who can hack the kernal costs more than $60,000. ->NT's ease of use lets you hire less costly IT staff. ->There are trade offs on both sides.
Do you REALLY want someone that does not understand how to program run YOUR network???
This is something that has confused me for some time, IS guys that dont even know what basic services such as SMTP POPx IMAP and DNS are!

PS Bring on that negative Karma!!!
Doh!! I had to reread that, sorry.

And YOU thought MY post was lame???
I think MySQL can import MS-Access databases, if not you can write an import asp script that will do it.
PS- deduct more Karma because I own the windowssucks.com domain.
Yea, I guess Etoys, Dejia News and slashdot are not "enterprise" ready.
Seriously though, why is this "enterprise" myth so popular? Linux seems to work fine for those enterprises as well as the UK government.
The domain at my house has a "Real Genius" theme.

"Cons: Lack of third-party applications in the e-commerce and application-server fields; license is less restrictive."
;)
Was that last part a typo or is it just too early?
I also like the fact that all of their software (not some other software sold with the distro) is GPLed.
I thought the quote of "Total world domination" was by Linus, maybe not.
What part of _HARDWARE_ do you not understand?? This isnt a software patent.
What problem?? If you create a system for idiots, only idiots will want to use it.

All of them ;)
Ok, then give me one example.

Oh thats GREAT!!!! ROFLMAO!!
