sorry to be so emphatic, but if your child can sit in their bedroom and play on the computer, then you have less control. They could even have an extra power cable and network cable in their closet. Putting the computer in a public location will help them self-regulate their use and allow you to interact with them while you are in the room, all without having to sneak into their bedroom. All wins.
