aside from the lawsuits, maybe the push for this techology will force the media to step up their game when it comes to the quality of commercials.. it seems that more and more people are watching things like the superbowl - just to see the commercials that promoters spent time and money to develop..
either the quality of the commercials will increase, or they will go the way of the internet banner ad..
There are a number of different issues in the spotlight regarding this problem. It seems that the RIAA's comment in the CNet story is trying to make copyright violations the issue... quote: "Her lawyers are trying to obtain a free pass to download or upload music online illegally"..
But in fact, this case is about the music industry prying into your personal life and invading your privacy. If you ask me, the RIAA is violating constitutional amendments that made this country what it is..
Let's just keep the different cases in perspective and uphold all laws instead of destroying others in the process...
i would be interested in viewing the source code to the new ui and see how much it has in common with the gpl'ed kde interface... hmm, suprisingly similar in the crystal-like theme, trans taskbar, windows, and more... but i guess they don't have to worry about getting caught since their source is locked up tighter that fort knox... (i guess it is to keep their os code so security minded, hmmm, right.)
is it just me or does it seem like it is getting easier and easier to track the locations of people...
just 3-5 years ago, when you took off in your car, it would be difficult for someone to get up with you unless they knew your destination... now a majority of people have cell phones which allow whoever wants to to contact them... next comes locating devices...
sure is an easy way to see if your significant other is cheating or if your kid really is studying at the library... what is next, surgically install gps units or what??
yeah, i only get cbs through the rabbit ears.. them darn car commercials are nothing but endless jingles that make my hair stand on end..
well, one of the major flags for a commercial skip is the instant increase in sound decibels for the commercial slot..
