My father was a pioneer in the US space program and earned over 20 patents while married and raising a family. His was hardly a unique example. This pronouncement is nearly as ignorant as claiming that creativity decreases with age. Case in point - Paul Erdos published more papers in one of his latter years than most mathematicians publish in their lifetimes.
