Good for Athlon! I just got a G5 and this doesn't make me feel bad for it, it does what I want extrodinarily fast and very well. What people are forgetting is now Apple is at least back in the picture and has more Ghz on the way. I am a mac person, but I am not going to spout off the macs do everything better all the time no matter what, that is silly. They are great computers, and OSX is awesome. And I think Athlon should be proud to have a great processor out. The more competition pushes the better Apple will be in the long run. What a waste of time to bitch at each other because apple got beat up in one magazines test. The only bummer is they should have used identical VRam amounts, that was unbalanced. When the 256 radeon comes out for Mac I'll have one the next day. Hey, instead of being a zealot for either side lets just chill and be glad the processors are getting crazy fast and getting faster every few months, imagine what the next year holds for us.
Can't we just get along?
I bet it has been said before but it has been on my mind for a while. Don't go for the drug pushers go for the drug Manufacturers. We will most likely never be able to cost effectively outwit the spammers directly. But if we remove the legality or profitability of the companies to buy the spam time we will get results. They give all the contact information you need to give them money, it should be enough to track the company that is paying the spammer(s) in question. If they find that they are getting reviewed by the government or an official representative of an antispam investigation for illicit business advertisement, they will loose interest quick. The spammers will not spam if they are not making money. Bottom line.
Sorry if this seems niave, but I think it is a direction that would work.
Be Well All.
I think Mr Jobs is trying to head the bull off at the pass. Considering the past relationship with Mr Gates and his "creative initiative" he is not trying to nail down every quick switch, just keep a firm hand on his implementation. Jobs has until 2004/5 to lock down his creations so that thay do not just become R&D for other companies. He can be a banana about a lot of things, but I do not begrudge him defending what little marketshare he has with vehemence.
Be well
William
