It's been reported also that pages visited with the Google toolbar with no incoming links have been visited shortly after by Googlebot.
This is more likely to happen if you have the advanced options turned on in the toolbar, which phone home to Google to get PageRank info about the page you're visiting.
To me this doesn't look as user-friendly as Google news, the main image is too large, if the visitor is not interested in the top headline, chances are they would click away pretty quick. On Google economy of space is used to fit in a variety of headlines above the "fold" of the page.
I'm sure these sort of things will be worked out, but at the moment it reminds me of Altavista's news feature, useful but slightly inferior to Googles.
