I've installed a 3com NBX SS3 system in my wife's law office (~20 handsets) with little problem. We connect to a T1 line which is split 50/50 for voice and data. The 3com system does pretty much everything and is super easy to administer. It's also very reliable and we haven't had to reboot the machine in 9 months of continuous operation.
A good selection of hardware is available on eBay but you can also buy it all new from 3com re-sellers. I used eBay and then contracted with mtmnet.com to do the initial configuration of the device. This can be a little tricky if you've never done it before. They did a great job and we haven't had any problems at all since we went live.
