Installed the update... Word would no longer run... I'm running OS X 10.2.6... All other Office apps were OK... Reinstalling Word did not help... consistently received message "Microsoft Word Unexpectedly Quit"... Tried lots of stuff including deleting Office with Microsoft's Remove Office utility and reinstalling without success... finally removed all Microsoft Office references on my machine and reinstalled Office and 10.1.2 update which restored Word.... A major pain...
If you really don't need the 10.1.4 upgrade, you might consider not installing it...
