I still want to know why in the UK they say "in hospital" instead of "in the hospital". What's up with that? And don't get me started with "math" vs "maths".

  3. Don't lump in Tesla with Google and Amazon. Tesla is a green company and has a mission to save the environment and the planet. They would never do this just to save some money.

You probably aren't aware of much either. The Act includes marketing and advertisements, not just the advertisement itself. Hence the lawsuit. Did you think HUD didn't think this through? I am always amazed at how dumb the commenters are here.

It doesn't. Completely stupid idea. Google is full of stupid ideas, but they have a lot of employees so they need to keep looking like they are busy doing stuff.

  11. You are missing the point: just because set of things happens, doesn't mean all things are going to happen. You should learn to actually make something that is successful first. Just because you can do 90% of something doesn't mean the last 10% is possible. You are probably a computer guy who has been spoiled with rapid progress in that fields. Well guess what? That gravy train is over. Digital computing is hitting a dead end, hard. And the success of all this "progress" is dependent on that train continuing on.

Nope. All the self-driving cars we have always have at least one driver behind the wheel (frequently there are two people). It isn't just "tuning". You can see where the Musk derangement syndrome comes from.

We haven't cured the common cold. We haven't made fusion commercially viable. Just because one thing is possible, not all things are possible. You guys always fall into the same traps.

  14. That is wrong. We don't always "advance". Sometimes we go backwards, sometimes things never happen at all. Progress is not guaranteed. As of right now self-driving cars DO NOT WORK and there is no evidence that it ever will.

Why do people assume that self-driving cars will EVER exist? It is like people just assume all things are possible. I guess that is what we get for generations being spoiled by progress based on the invention of the transistor.

  16. I am pretty sure that smart people know that "self-driving" cars won't work as long as roads mix self-driving and human driving cars. It is a dead end and is wasting hundreds of millions of dollars.

Traditional advertising for housing has the same restrictions. You cannot exclude based on race, etc. For example you cannot distribute advertising pamphlets for housing only to white people. That is basically what hyper targeted advertising is: handing out advertising to individuals.

  18. Definitely. There is nothing more efficient than a rich person driving himself around in a $60,000 car. Why, we could just power it via the smugness alone...and the rich person doesn't have to deal with the common people on mass transit.

  19. Nice! Advertising solves everything. I'll bet the click rate of 1,400 people would generate about 90 cents in advertising. Sounds like a plan.

  20. Wait, you mean a $60,000 Tesla isn't going to save the planet?

Tesla didn't "ignite" the EV market. They haven't even produced a single affordable EV yet! But other companies have. It is like people are blind. And I am not impressed that some communication company "saves" 20% on satellite launch costs. Launch costs are not a pressing problem.

  23. Exactly. It is like people have gone insane: they think people driving around in individual EVs is somehow "green". Even if it were true, a Tesla is unaffordable for 99.999% of the planet. How is that possibly going to help?
