There is nothing wrong with thestack.com, but they aren't following the standard "submit-to-firehouse-get-voted-on" procedure that everyone else uses, are they? Either they are paying to get on the front page, or they have paid people to vote their stories in.
This is why you should avoid corporate controlled APIs and languages. Things like Rust, etc can just get pulled away at the last moment, leaving you without any future path and support. Lesson learned.
