Despite the obvious lack of 'well referenced' information gained from the slashdot community, anyone doing research is well advised to get an idea of scope for their line of enquiry. What better than to get the (sometimes) insightful ideas from a self-selecting (expert) group who can (thinly) cover the ground with ideas, examples and (lots of) criticism...? As to referencing slashdot, or sharing their PhD, don't be ridiculous! When did anyone honestly expect that their input to an 'ask slashdot' was going to theirs until they gave permission for another to use it...!?
