I teach ham radio classes. The toughest part of the electronic theory required for the basic license IS taught in freshman science class in our local high schools!!! Memorize some rules and regulations, apply common sense to questions like "When is it permitted to send false and misleading transmisions", and you, too, can pass the test!
Seriously, it will require some study, but it's not neurosurgery.
