but a bunch of women are standing on their "right not to be offended by anyone, even in a game" and quitting.
Well, it is their right to be offended and quit. It is not anyone's right to prevent the GM from being a jerk. After all, it is not illegal to be a dick.
I just wonder why those offended can't do it in game though. In past RPGs that I've played, if someone is offended, they can usually work it out in character rather than whine to the GM. A riot of offended characters is much more entertaining in an RPG than a riot of offended players. Offense is part of life, and RPGs can often mirror life. Playing in character can change the RPG world much quicker than changing the real world.
As my wife can tell you, there is no such thing as an Emergency Brake -- only make-black-smoke-come-out-of-the-back-of-the-car brakes. It won't stop you, just make your car smell like burnt rubber for a few years. Hell, she didn't know she had it on for 110 miles.
> Does that mean that Slashdot editors also believe drugs should be legalized?
WHAT!! We don't believe... wait... woaahhh! My hand looks like a care bear. What was the question again?
Any suggestions as to how I can get this policy overturned without looking like someone who wants to spend my working time on my cell rather than coding?
Hmmm... That's a tough one. Have you considered not posting on Slashdot during work hours?
Well, dimensions of a hand *could* be intrusive. For example, I often tell women I'm hung like an ox -- if they had my hand dimensions -- they might be able to call me out on that.
And you act as if that isn't a crime! I had to take a fork to my temple to get that "And Tweeiiins!" song out of my head.
It's been over a year. The store is not liable, the manufacturer is.

Dammit! Since when has the Comic Book Guy started posting on Slashdot?

I agree -- perhaps he should register MikeRoweStrategy.com or AdvancedMikeRoweDevices.com.
