i remember when my arms warrior had 100% Armor Penetration without any buffs in WOTLK. all from gear and gems. I had to run lots of numbers to figure out what drops i needed to accomplish this but finally I got it. The part about figuring out all the numbers and the number crunching in general was really fun. I am probably not in the majority there. I told the mods on blizzard that ALL they had to do to balance pvp and pve was to give certain abilities/stats/cd's different numbers, depending on whether or not you were in pvp or pve. The just change the tooltip for people to read it. And ALL i got back was something like "people would be confused or people dont want to read all that". If your players dont want to read a freaking tooltip and at least spend 30 minutes figuring their character out then maybe they should go and play MSN hearts. MMOs weren't designed for everyone.
*rant over*
Then you really dont have to worry about anything. of course when traveling back and forth in time i could always collide with another vehicle. Oh and i also need lightning.
This was also the same college(college of polymers) from USM that presented their work in relation to self-healing cars but also shows uses of other things like cell phones.
First, Did google not describe to the employees what exactly they would be doing? I know they said, "sensitive content" but that could mean a whole variety of things. Second, there is one thing that we all kid about and talk about and porn is one of them and I am sure that there are solid studies indicating that this does effect people in harsh ways. Its another thing to go venturing off into beheadings, beastiality and the like and not even get any kind of support from a company that has billions of cash. The least they could have done would have been to offer a support program, some take away money when leaving or *gasp* how about a full time position doing something more humane?
"For one employee, making nightly 1 a.m. phone calls to her team in Bangalore, India didn't bother her. What did was missing her children's soccer games and dance recitals because she was stuck at work. "So, we say you're never going to miss another soccer game or be late for a recital." "
Sure you are never going to miss another soccer game or recital, birthday, graduation but you will be trying to stay awake the whole time. Who does she think she is? Without looking her up on google, facebook, etc etc i am willing to bet she isnt married, doesnt have kids etc. Its clearly more important to her to do work instead of living her life. Life is short.
just like software companies are trying to say that we don't OWN anything that we buy from them and therefore first sale doctrine doesn't apply, we too should have the right to only offer up pictures to facebook as a LICENSE - something that facebook doesn't own.. and if they want to use our picture to sell to someone else we should get royalties.
well in southern mississippi here... i just bought land outside of town here and I was wondering what I was going to do about internet since *gasp* hughsnet is a no go and dial up of course is too. Just last week they laid down fiber optic down the hwy that is perpendicular to the street that i live on and this week they were going to run the lines from the hwy to all the homes(which are a good mile from the hwy). I dont know if maybe in some areas that stopped expanding UVerse..I can just tell you that I just now got it and my neighbor should be getting the service up and running by this weekend. It really surprised me when i heard about it but I am glad.
"However, the improved drivers appear to be working in concert with overall improvements to OS X's graphics subsystem. According one source who spoke to Ars on the condition of anonymity, Apple has significantly altered the architecture of the graphics subsystem in Mountain Lion, cleaning up the interface between OpenGL and drivers in order to implement upcoming support for OpenGL 4.2. OS X currently supports version 3.2, and the lack of support for the latest version shows when comparing performance with Windows"
i guess i was counting generations differently. i was counting 4.0, 4.1, 4.2 and now 4.3. No not full releases but changes/optimizations/depreciations nonetheless.
Now go download the free app OpenGL Extensions Viewer . I think you can also get them on your app store of choice. Here are my core features, AMD Radeon HD 6770M OpenGL Engine:
3.0 100% 23/23 features
3.1 100% 8/8 features
3.2 100% 10/10 features
3.3 30% 3/10 features
4.0 0% 0/14 features
4.1 0% 0/7 features
4.2 0% 0/12 features
4.3 ????????
So really and truly we are look at 4 2/3 generations behind. Not to mention the shading language version is currently 1.50 on my system and the latest is currently, 4.3.
if you have a fairly recent mac chances are the graphics hardware can do ALL the great OpenGL stuff. Thats what makes it even more puzzling. Its not that the hardware on these systems aren't there. There just isn't any drivers. Right now my macbook pro can perform all OpenGL 4.1 commands. But no drivers since Apple has been twiddling their thumbs.
When is apple going to get with the program related to 3D graphics? With Lion, they finally released drivers for OpenGL 3.3. Now, they are currently about 4 generations behind this new release. You would think, that with their success of their devices with fairly nice GPU's, that they would try to court gamers and developers. Let's face a hard truth. The most successful apps past and present are games. I know they want their drivers to be stable and all but they are way behind. I don't understand why they can't work with amd and nvidia on getting some stable driver releases...especially now with retina displays.
Perhaps someone can explain what there thinking is here because I feel like they are missing out on some opportunities.
HR should not be looking at technical resumes. Period. Managers and colleagues working on the actual software need to look over the resumes and do all the vetting.
Dude,.... You are trolling or your management needs a refresher course. I am in Florida and I make $80 with a BS in computer science. No MBA or certs. -- mobile development.
I have people that want to know if I would take this great job in San francisco or NYC for $125000 start for the year when I am in Florida making $80-$85k. They wonder I think sometimes why I am not interested.... I think we all the know the reasons without me listing them.
and type in *GASP* http://youtube.com./ If people want to visit youtube they will and a lack of an app isn't going to change that. Not sure what Apples motivations are here.
when i said "have to pay for something they dont consume" that something is certain channels. I wasn't talking about having to pay for cable or not. I was talking about paying for specific channels that people don't watch.
my question is is that should this be illegal? should people have to pay for something that they dont consume? shouldnt everything be pay per view? Why is the burden on us to solve their lack of vision and their problems with subsidizing their cheap content?

well like i mentioned before, check out Art & Logic. I actually am at step #2 with them and am actually considering going to work there. ALL their employees work from home. ALL of them. They have some big time customers as well. So something they are doing, whatever it is, they are doing it right.
thats why you can use facetime, skype or any other type video conferencing set ups. Hey even buy everyone company phones if it makes it that much more seamless. and Agile can work as long as everyone has access to a repository somewhere. if everyone is working on the same project and differnet people are workng with different features, as a team, you communicate check-ins, check-outs and commits. Once you have the system in place and assuming that you have a good team then you shouldn't need to be at the office. My employer says we should be there to "keep up appearances". Appearances of what? and to whom? I get more done at home than I ever did at the office. If you want to know if people are actually going to be home working instead of eating bon bons and watching soap operas all day the proof will be in the product that they deliver. This is espeically true for Agile development, depending on how many sprints you have and how often.

if i decide to ditch cable completely and get an antenna where can i go to check what channels i would get?
here is something that I came across on arstechnica about graphics improvements with Mountain Lion
A little below halfway down the page:
"However, the improved drivers appear to be working in concert with overall improvements to OS X's graphics subsystem.
