"extend it and add modern constructs to make this a less painful framework to deal with."
Like VB 14, included in VS2015?:)
According to the article runtime support is still available in Win 10 until 2025. Does the IDE itself no longer work in Windows 10, or is it just that developers are pushing for an updated toolchain that emits binaries optimised for armv8 (surface phone) or x86_64?
Kirk makes out with a chick who looks like a zebra, ho hum.
Trek used to be a show about ethics and the prime directive where they'd solve a mystery of the week, overcome a paradox of time travel or Wesley would be sentenced to death.
Now it seems all about the explosions and space warfare.
Maybe this tendency toward machine translation will drive a boom in endangered languages for which no corporation would bother investing the resources into building in support into their translation engine.
Take for example 1994. The year Shawshank Redemption came out. IMDB's top rated movie.
Most overrated film of all time? No accounting for taste when a film-noir masterpiece like The Last Seduction is rated only the 92nd best movie of the same year.
Yep, I wondered how long until this slashvertisment for 'helpful' Google products would turn into a discussion about invasiveness.
"I use an iPhone so I don't get infected by all that Google s--t."
But yeah, I am finding the notifications on Android lately rather frightening. Maybe it's my paranoia kicking in but even if they don't use my data maliciously I find it scary that they remind me from scanning my email that a bill is due or that if I take this route I'm 26 minutes from 'home'.
So I think a dose of AOSP/Cyanogenmod and f-droid may cure my anxiety, particularly as an official product, Google aren't bothering to update my 5.1.1 Nexus device to M, let alone N.
They are more power efficient by >2x, but most home users don't really care about that. Hell, most have no clue how much power their PC's use (hence the proudly boasted about 1000W supplies for machines that peak out at ~300W).
People should really check out their electricity bill then.:) Our supplier does daily readings online. Savings in modern machines may be more modest but I am using about $50 a year less by EOLing a Pentium 4.
They were building 'bridges' for both iOS and Android.
The Android one has been abandoned but evolved into the bash/ubuntu subsystem.
But the iOS bridge might still be in development.
I did a Java 1.1 programming course alongside a VB expert back in 1998 - he crashed and burned after not comprehending OO at all.

Isn't that the one where Johnny Depp is assassinated and uploads himself?

Well there's the Cortex-A32 which provides a 32bit version of ARMv8.
I'm not sure the jump to 64bit will be instantaneously universal if budget Cortex-A7 phones migrate to the A32.
debunked as a probable hoax
I'm more concerned about the undead apocalypse when someone forgets to pay the electricity bill at the Alcor cryo facility.
But at least we might find out posthumously from Hal Finney, the age old question, "Who is Satoshi Nakamoto?"
We're out of corn flakes and don't forget the milk!
You prove my point. The world has over 6000 languages and the website you listed supports fewer than 100.
That nerds working for Microsoft prioritise a language off a TV program doesn't diminish that fact.
Maybe this tendency toward machine translation will drive a boom in endangered languages for which no corporation would bother investing the resources into building in support into their translation engine.
Just another Android vendor? Pass. They don't even own here maps any more.

On regular TV or do you need a smellavision set-top box?
Wouldn't it be simpler just to make the examination hall a technology free zone?
Jerky low-quality unaccelerated 3D graphics will do that.
What's a "time fly"?
That's quite a stutter. :)
Cheers, I'll give it a try.

Klingons circling Uranus?
Does it beg the question of whether trolls bait readers by begging the question just to lure the grammar pedants out of the woodwork...
Come at me, bro. :)
Cool thanks for the info. I guess Jiangxu is a bit of a mouthful to American ears... But at least 'Sue' is something of an abbreviation.
Nonetheless, I'd be tempted to vote for a candidate named "graceful river"!
(Gooch is well-known as the name of an English cricket captain).
Shouldn't that be Googe Sue - Or is Googe her husband's surname?
