  1. What do we really want... on What the Linux Community Needs to Grok · · Score: 1

    1) Be Pro- something not Anti-
    Its a lot more positive.
    (Pro-Linux == Good, Anti-MS == "bad" )

    2) AOL box; Why not make something like a Tivo box
    for people who want to use AOL.
    Tivo runs linux but who the hell cares.
    ( Have a look at the "Money programme"
    broadcast from the BBC with the guy
    pointing to the $250 box that does his work instead of the $1000 dollar pc )

    3) We should be aiming for a time when the OS is unimportant and people can just get work done. OS bigotry is helping no one.

  4. Respect our "license" but we can ignore yours. on Bootlegging Buffy · · Score: 1

    The , lets say, misuse of this program breaking the message at the end re rebroadcast and public use has issues for open source use.

    If the open source movement wants people to
    accept and use the GPL and associated licenses then it is critical that they respect and do not misinterpret other people licenses. Ignoring a licenses because you do not agree with it is not the thing to do. Work to change the system rather than ignoring what someone elses holds to be true.

    Ignorance is bad, education is good.
