I am a cablevision subscriber. For $10/month I get their dvr service. Sure, their program guide is terrible. But I can cancel the service at any time. The recorder has dual tuners. I would love to switch to tivo, but it's not worth the extra money and (more importantly) loss of features to do so.

It's a good read for techies since it explains (in general terms) how and what the NSA is collecting. It's also an excellent primer for anyone who still believes that since he's not doing anything wrong he doesn't mind being watched.
Ultimately free trade works out well. As far as I know we have yet to see how free trade really works out. We've seen it's short term results, that's all.
The idea that America has an advantage in certain areas always comes up. But what jobs are Americans better at when the definition of doing a job well is increasingly based solely on the cost of labor?
...that this bill would do anything? Email as we know it is going to get spammed, end of story. What we have now cannot be fixed through legislation or taxation. Spending a moment even considering that these might work is an utter waste of time.
Eventually people will start using an alternative that is a little more spam-resistant.
