I actually have been using shadango.com for the last three months (I heard about it from/. of all places) and I must admit its spam protection (they use spamassassin) has been solid ever since I started using it. In addition to the protection their spam guard affords me, it also allows me to check both my hotmail and my school account from one interface.
I'm not saying services like this are a solution to the spam monger, but a service that applies both spamassassin and RMX checks is taking a step in the right direction and it's definitely worth checking out!
