Apple profits mainly because you have to use QuickTime(tm) to watch the trailers. Someone wants to watch something on Apple Trailers and they don't have QuickTime? Well, they have two options. Either don't watch or get QuickTime. BAM! They have a new QuickTime user. There are individual user licenses that you can buy to make QuickTime more functional (QuickTime Pro), but what Apple is looking for is marketshare. The more QuickTime users, the more businesses/companies/media outfits notice and use the QuickTime format.
every single book i pick up or have someone suggest always has a prerequisite of some programming background. i'd like a C++ book (or maybe a general programming book?) that does not assume i have ANY experience in programming. i'd like to learn from the very first step, instead of starting somewhere in the middle. sure i can pick up the basics while still starting from the middle, but i'd like to build a solid foundation first. anyone?
