Language has everything to do with it. If the foreigners do not show up and assimilate into the society, they will eventually replace the society if lest to enter unchecked. And no, laws limiting how many can show up do not work, else we wouldn't be having the conversation. That's why there is a label called illegal.
That's why it's called a fail safe. If it fails, it goes into a safe mode.
You wouldn't want it to automatically fire the missiles. They are strategically pre-programed with destinations so they can be launched in a hurry. Suppose China or Japan does a sneak attack and they are still aimed at Russia who for some unknown reason is coming to our aid and assisting us in repelling the land invasion. Now suppose the invading army took out the command center and the missiles blew up Russia.
It doesn't make sense to automatically shoot at unknown enemies. We spent craploads of money putting satellites and sensors all over the globe in order to detect launches and deduce point of origins from travel arc just so we could respond to the threat and not potential allies or neutral countries.
I'm not sure Rich Whitey is a racist comment. There is a candidate in the Chicago area running with the name Rich Whitey (who's actual name is Rich Whitney with an N).
You have to watch the video to see where it talks about picking angle. It's around the 2:20 time stamp.
What they are claiming (or it appears that way) is that when you press the english verses Spanish button, if you tap screen after it starts to move to the next screen, the entry is recorded for the closest vote there. This happens to be Reid when voting in Spanish and Angle in English.
However, they didn't show Reid being selected so we don't know if the same gestures are needed or not. It's obvious that it's human error in the video- we don't have video of the Reid instance to see how obvious that might be.
That would make sense if it wasn't for all the poles claiming that the GOP, primarily with tea party candidates that took the primaries, are expected to oust the dems.
What people seem to miss with all this is that it won't necessarily be a GOP success regardless of how many seats they picked up. People are upset with the career politicians and the parties ignoring what the constituents think is best by forcing the party members to march in lockstep with them and are basically voting incumbents out. It's not like they will march in lockstep with the GOP anymore. And it's not just the GOP they are pissed with, it seems it's the dems too which is why the GOP is expected to pick up seats.
in all seriousness WHO THE BLEEP EVER HEARD OF THAT PRANK BEFORE
It's a simply ploy on misdirection. It's been around in one form or another for years. Back in grade school, we had word problems that played on this where we had to select the proper information to solve a math problem.
It can be done/demonstrated easier with coins and not harming any animals. Assemble 3 coins (US currency) a penny, a nickle, and a quarter.
Now tell them that Johny's mom had three kids. Point to the penny and say the name Penny, point to the nickle and say the name Nicolas, then point to the Quarter and ask what the third one's name is. Most people will spend a considerable time attempting to work quarter or some variation of it into a name even after repeating that Johny's mom had three kids. Eventually they give up.
(in case anyone is wondering, the third one's name if Johny- as in Johny's mom). It's a little easier then how far can a dog run into the woods.
You may consider them morons but they didn't have the benefit of your knowledge.
If you look at the VIN number of your car, it still has plenty of information in it. Lets pick on a relativity recent Chevrolet for instance. The information can tell you where it was made, what options was installed from the factory, what motor came with it, what year is was produced and so on. Unlike a serial number in a database, on material items it's important to carry some of this information in order to track down problems with a specific portion of the assembly or whatever. In the situation with a tank, if the main guns jam on a regular basis, it might be that the boring tool for the breach is undersized slightly so correcting it would require a recall and retrofit of all tanks produced in that plant with that bore tool.
The benefits of knowing is way more important then someone possibly finding information out, especially if the information is obfuscated in some way with a code. Unfortunately, this changes when there is a war and the equipment is used in that effort. If that code was ever broken, then you can learn a plethora of information like if it's a new plant making a certain part or the entire tank, if it's a plant that has a large production capability (making it a prime target for industrial bombing), and so on. And just like the information buried within a VIN number, most people aren't aware of how to decode it making it appear as some random number sequence. It's really a lot like communicating war plans in code, you don't think it's compromised until you realize someone is acting on the information within the code.
And yes, since the serial numbers were for long term tracking, it's not like a database at all where a random number can be used more then once as long as the sessions aren't still active. It needs to be a unique number dedicated to the piece of equipment and regardless of how you randomize it or attempt to obfuscate and information, a pattern will ultimately develop that can be somewhat useful to an opponent. You have to remember, this is before computers and humans needed to be able to track the assets by hand, often from far, far away.
IT doesn't include the exception because there is no prevailing legitimate need for it. The cell phone provision was excepted because it made the phones that you were forced to pay for by either up front costs, a service contract length of service, or a combination of both- useless when leaving a carrier. In short, the primary reason for jail breaking a cell phone is to continue using it legitimately with another service. With the Xbox, the primary reason for breaking it is to pirate software or bypass security measures that restricted the pirating of software- specifically what the law was intended to prevent.
I'm not sure it's the same thing here as women and minorities were already citizens being denied the ability to vote. A constitutional amendment was passed stating this couldn't happen any more if they were a citizen.
If they weren't citizens, I doubt they woulod have ever been given the right to vote.
Actually, there is federal laws requiring English only to be used in many cases or situations. Unless they have changed it, you had to have the ability to speak and understand English well enough to read all road signs and follow instructions from law enforcement officers to be an interstate commercial truck driver and of course, all federal courts list English as the language they expect filings to be made in (which is ironic seeing how law entails many latin naming conventions).
There may not be a law that say X is the official language, but there are laws and rules that say you will be ignored or unqualified to work in some profession if it's not in English.
What's interesting about that comic is that it illustrates what happens when foreigners do no learn the native language. Just like the Cherokee, the natives get defeated and the foreigners take the land.
Cubans making it to Florida are not automatic citizens. They are granted asylum which is an automatic right to remain within the country. They have to be naturalized like anyone else entering the country.
Perhaps a more apt example might be people born in our outlying or insular territories. The US still maintains several territorial jurisdiction which persons born in them are automatic citizens.
You can still show up and voice your opinion. You can still organize and run campaigns against certain spending. It's not like you're out of options or have zero influence or anything. In fact, doing those other things would give you more say then simply voting anyways because your vote is only one in how many thousands or millions compared to you influencing those thousands or millions to vote your specific way.
There is a process in which THAT GUY OVER THERE can obtain the same special legal status. It's called naturalization. And yes, that legal status is pretty important unless you want people with no vested interest in the long term survival of the community making decisions that they can up and walk away from. Granted, that can happen by outsiders who are also citizens moving into the area, but it raises the bar considerable for foreign influences attempting to take over from within. That's why the president is supposed to be a natural born citizen (after a certain date in time), so some foreigner can't get elected and disband the army (or direct them ineffectively) making it simple for a foreign power to walk in and take over- or to negotiate trade and other deals that benefit other countries to our demise. The natural citizen has a vested interest that isn't as clear with someone just visiting.
Until your a citizen, your taxes are basically rent. It's sort of like being a home owner, you either pay someone else' mortgage or your own. If you choose to leave your home and visit mine, and I charge you rent for your stay, don't get all pissy when I don't allow you to have that party at 3 in the morning.
And yes, they do get more then fuck all in return. They get basic police and fire protection, they get the benefits of the society that created the jobs they are working at, they get the protections of an environmentally safe surrounding with clean drinking water and sanitation. So lets not pretend that they get nothing at all.
The term legal just means they are in the country legally, not that they are part of the country. To do that, the founders of this country instituted a power in the congress to determine what needs to be done in order to become part of the country (naturalization) after a certain date in time.
When you become part of the country, you get taxation with (somewhat limited in practice) representation. Until then, it's simply a cost of entry.
I don't see the deterrence value in such a vehicle. By buying and advertising such nonsense, it only shows the potential attackers where not to go. No, you don't drive through the security bottleneck, you go around it. So the next real terrorist attack won't happen by plane. It could happen on foot or public transportation (bus, train, subway, etc). The almost attempt in Times Square happened in a POV. Oddly enough, they didn't shut down all of NYC and start searching every POV for potential explosives. Then there's pleasure boats, cargo ships, private aircraft, blimps, balloons, etc.
It's sort of an economics of scale verses motivation. You see, by advertising it, it simple says if you want to play, you need more money or brains.
What that does is take the lone wolf "I'm pissed off" person pretty much out of the picture as well as the stupid, we'll get away with it people. What is left is the highly motivated people who will have to find other ways to do the same thing. This increases the complexity which also increases the chances of it not happening as well as getting caught in the process. Imagine it to be more like a StarBucks. Anyone can brew coffee, and quite frankly, there is nothing special about their coffee. So what's to stop you from buying some coffee cups and sitting on the corn just down from the starbuck and selling your maxwell house brand? Well, it's venders permits, it's health and safety codes requiring certain equipment, restrooms and clean water for washing hands, zoning codes and so on that all add up. and once you add all these up, you find that most tom dick or harrys simply cannot compete or enter the market.
That's what this does. It attempts to make a threat so complex to pull off that 90% of the people will simply give up before acting and the other 10% will make mistakes that will likely result in their failing.
It's getting cold at night though. Friday night I had to stay out and roast a hog for a benefit party Saturday morning and it got down to 43F (about 6.2c). We're bouncing back and forth on the temps as usual this time of year. One day it's nice a few days later, it's cold.
It's the entire "in america" thing where almost everyone who would be visiting a website would know that America uses Fahrenheit to measure temperature.
Anyways, I was attempting to call the GP silly because 70 kelvin is like -333 F and -203c. And of course 70 C is 343 kelvin and 158 F. When talking about the temp of the weather in a country, I don't think any of those other then 70 f would fit in this world.
Why would it be? I said I was in the US, and we use Fahrenheit here. It's one of those things the foreigners claim makes us stupid. However, I'm second guessing that entire stupid thing though.
Autumn? As in fall? As in the leaves fall off the trees because it's getting cold and winter is soon?
I'm in the northern hemisphere of the globe (US) and it's the end of summer beginning of fall/autumn here. But I'm not too far off from Canada and we still get 70 degree or so days. Today, it was a nice and sunny 75 degrees which brought the girls out in shorts.
Um.. The Indians had repeating riffles too.

Maybe they though since it was a balloon filled with helium and launched by NASA, it would go up and not sideways so it didn't cross their mind?.
