I love both Tribes games, and looking very much to the release of Tribes 3. It's great that they decided to release the engine behind Tribes 2. I might play around with it and try to get familar with working with game engines. Stuff like this is an invaluable oppertunity for people wanting to develop games, or learn how to.
Another reason is that so many (web) programs incorporated it, like vBulletin. it was free to use and easy to learn, and it was painless to deply on virtually any platform.
All news in every form is biased to some degree, that is a fact. Either get over it or don't accept anything anyone tells you and live in a dark cave for the rest of your life.
On one hand you've got Orrin Hatch, who is extremist and wants to imprison people for downloading music. Then you've got guys like this doing a complete oppisite.
Oh well.
It takes a long, long time to get things standardized. While this is indeed a cool concept, it won't be in too many households any time soon.
