I'm sure that at some point, ISP's will be required to make certain improvements to prevent, limit, or at least spy on the traffic flowing. I mean p2p is just one example. Spamming, port scanning, and god knows how many other examples could be used. Politicians cant write laws without defining the rights and restrictions, and of course the responsibilities of the ISP's (cause after all, its their gateway that divides between you and the rest of the world). Since nobody "owns" the internet, its kinda difficult to pin point responsibility. I mean even your ISP is nothing more than a P2P connection with a local loop and router connecting themselves and their clients to a another router (another ISP) that connects the same way down the line via BGP. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next decade. While I personally believe the internet should be a FREE WAY (like the autobon of Germany) I hope the bureaucrats wont screw it all up for us.

Here is the basics of any/all countries in the world. Rules of a country 1) Flag (Need something to salute to) 2) Borders (pay taxes for import/export/resale) 3) Jail (anybody who doesnt understand rules number 1 or 2 above...) A senate or parliament with no money is not a government. Most countries require that 60 days after elections that a budget is created and voted upon. Coalitions are formed, interest groups and mafias all pick at the pie, and thats how things work. (roughly...) The money always comes from taxes or from using the tax payers money. Taxes are collected from anybody / anything that comes in and out of the borders, and then resold, etc. Armys are built to preserve those borders, but then soldiers need to eat to, so again, its all about taxes. Thats why whoever doesnt pay taxes or salute the flag goes to jail. Saddam is no longer the Iraqi owner, but then it will be interesting to see who takes over and how that will effect the common person. Does the average Iraqi want to live a Western "type" life?

Do you actually believe what you are writing or are you just bored? The RIAA cannot even protect their own website. I am streaming movies like Terminator 3, Die Hard, Matrix Reloaded, and hundreds more every day all day for FREE. So let me guess, I work for the MPAA yet I am hosting in Palestine? You may be a geek, but you definately have no brains or insight. The RIAA can easily scan Kazaa, yet our network and program is built on security. Sure there is always room for improvement. But Kazaa doesnt support multiple proxys, Kazaa doesnt support SSL, and when you share on Kazaa, the .dat file includes the source IP so I guess its fair to say that ES5 is a hell of a lot safer than Kazaa. Again, we are trying to help people. We are the only network in the world who offers DIRECT VERIFIED DOWNLOADS from our servers, we offer FREE streaming, we offer FREE FTP services, RADIO STATION and lots more. So again, first check us out and then talk. If you have suggestions or ideas, we are open to hearing them. But making shit up is not cool. Cheers, SharePro http://forums.es5.com
