Hopefully you aren't alluding to the fact that you FORMAT your hard drive every week as a good security practice. Since you didn't specify your procedure, I'm going to assume that you do at least one complete disk overwrite before reinstalling Windows
Pen and paper may provide you with an airgap from the internet, but it is also not very convenient. I would prefer someone use some sort of a password safe, remember only one very difficult password/phrase and make sure they change that often.

I often wonder why it has to be this way. Wouldn't it be just as logical to make the two place nice? Perhaps if the two fields worked more closely they could actually learn something off each other.
It may also be important to note that Robert was the person that authored the first nano@home proposal. So he has a vested interest in seeing users move from seti@home.
