It's an animated film, about a young jazz musician who dosen't know that he is a vampire because his father gave him a secret formula to make him sun-resistant.
Then the German vamps & the US mobster vamps get interested, because they all know that whoever holds his fathers formula will have power in the vampire world.
It's a well crafted film with a great sense of humor and has more than a little to say about some of the bumps in Cubas history.
NetBSD is an excelent OS. Some may prefer Linux, some may perfer NetBSD. Me, I use both!
NetBSD might not be *your* particular brand of vodka on i386/x86 arch, but compare the progress of NetBSD on non-i386 archs to Linux on the same arch and, well, NetBSD is the ONLY real choice to make my uVAX more than just a space-heater!
Dying, definately not. NetBSD is not an example of how great an open source OS can become.

Um, yeah. I spilt bong water *all over* this page here in K&R, and well ya know I had to parse and FTP some text files for a highschool assignment, and well my dad bought me a Mac and I couldn't get Borland Turbo C 3.5 to install, and I started hiding under the couch.
I was sitting there for an hour and then it hit me! I could write a shell script, and um then I had another bong, and I'm not sure where the files went...
The more junior the staffer the more supervision they need. You didn't have time to learn Python & Ruby? (nether do I btw) - you should have at least had the time to watch over and guide him/her.
Well, translating things to $AUD... here's my workings per 100CDs being completely independant:
100 good quality CDs with cases - $100 Ink Jet Ink + good Paper for cover - 100$ $4.20/disk postage Aust Wide for disks not sold at gigs.
Assume: 75% of disks posted (not sold in person) Own web site for promotion Owns PC/MAC w/ Burner + Printer Owns instruments Time Burning disks, printing & cutting covers etc is free*. Time writing & recording music is free*.
The first 25 disks in each box that are sold at the door at gigs are going to cost me $2.00ea = $50.00.
The second 75 disks per box will have an extra $4.20 added - which is the cost of posting a CD anywhere in Australia via Aust Post. They will cost me $465.00 to produce.
Total cost $515, avg $5.15 per disk.
Charge $10 per disk at gig or over web, claim free postage for web customers.
For each box of 100 you sell, you get $1000 cash, $485 of this is profit.
So sure, I will need to sell 300 & 1/3 boxes of CDs to get the $161,909 that those guys got.
Here's the big difference to me: I have a nine to five in a good profession, writing and performing is a weekend interest. I never intend for it to make a single red cent, if it does well good. I always assume that any costs I incur in my music making is money on a hobby.
This has a distinct advantage or two, 100% artistic control, 0% risk as I am not relying on the cash for rent etc. I can take my sweet time and it never has to mean anything to anyone but me.

I agree. Let them die a horrible death, and let the legal process take a bit of responsability. A lot of this seems to me like the legal process is as p*ssed off as the rest of us, but droping the ball just as they get to the goal line with stupid laws.
This is what we did at my workplace. We created a couple of "secret" shares on a server, and everyone dumps their pr0n & mp3s into the same repository.
This cuts the duplicate files coming in on Kazaa. Sounds silly but it works.
The reason we don't mind Kazaa is we pay for 3Gb/month, what we don't use is lost so we pull in what we can at the end of the month.

I use both IRIX and Linux almost every day, and I use Win2K in my nine-to-five.

IRIX 6.5 on the desktop is nothing spectacular, and I am still waiting to see these amazing graphics on the o2 that everyone tells me there is.
The only thing I would like to see in linux is system partitioning in an IBM/Sun kind of capacity.
Oh but while we are on the topic of wishlists, how about free hardware for all?
Speaking as someone who has wore one or two linux crashes over the years, an OS only goes down as hard as your backups & walm spares do...
