Since you clearly know nothing about defamation law I will **sigh** be forced to fill you in. The ***TRUTH*** is an affirmative defense to a defamation action. As a matter of law you are not entitled to an undeserved reputation. Just take a look at what the weenies did with BrowserBloat 6.
Ya great. 4 min. But what if your config is not so standard?! Then what?!! I've been trying to get my dhcp client to work with the stupid Mediaone cybersurfr cable modem. Still hasn't gotten it to work. Right now all that happens is that as soon as the NIC get configured the cable modem's PC connect light turns off. And yes I've seen all the how-to's and other documentation out there.
The point is that if you need to be interoperable with a non-linux entity that has not been hacked around you are in for some pain. So how about a config that has at least ONE NON-Linux device or function to setup and time that!!!!
What would really be an accomplishment would be to port Linux to a z80 machine.
Anybody done it already? I know Elks has one to the 8088/8086.
Even an 8080 would be pretty nice . . .

The real reason that Intel is doing this is so they can track what their employees are doing at home.
Think about it. With the PIII chip ID Intel can easily identify which employee is doing what at home.
I've thrown out the following crap in the past 5 yrs:
Trash 80 Model III
Apple IIc
Wang PC (don't ask don't tell)
Wang OIS 50/60
286
If you can't get your crap to actually do WORK then TOSS IT!!!
Ya like you can beowolf the above crap so you get the equivalent of an i386 overclocked to 6 Mhz.
