The test was not fair in anyway. The SCSI drive had double the cache of the IDE drive. Cache on a hard drive can make a huge difference in performance. Compare it to the 8Meg cache Western Digital and I believe you will be very surprised with the results.
Serial ATA was also not tested. Serial ATA will wipe the floor with SCSI.
