I didnt RTFA so the article may be making this same mistake as well, but you cannot base a conclusion that involves a whole population on just 1 individual(or two for that matter)
1 guy can go on the web, donate 50% of his income to charity through paypal and then volunteer through a place he found the internet but that doesnt mean diddly if you try to use that one example in order to get a conclusion on the general population of internet users.
... and they are right, people who use spews block people.
But thats like saying, "rocket propelled grenades dont kill people, people kill people."
Spews recommends not blocking level 2 listings which is what they are listed as, yet people are still blocking it.
If you provide a tool that can provide massive harm, shouldnt you be responsible for it?
Remember they are just on the lvl 2 list because theres just a possibility of it being used for spam, so why should it even be reported? If someone makes a mistake it blocks innocent people, if they stop reporting those then those mistakes cant happen.
like others have said, you should not be asking these types of questions on slashdot because you have no control over who posts.
I can say im a lawyer who specializes in this area and say they can sue the pants off the company, but that doesnt mean its true.
With that in mind, i dont take this as a serious post, the poster shouldnt have asked slashdot he should ask a lawyer. If he still thinks he should ask a lawyer then i pity him because people get screwed in scams all the time and this may just be when he gets screwed for following the advice of a 'slashdot lawyer'
