Some battles are over (debut of XBox and sales relative to PS2) but the war is far from seeing the dust settle. Sony is currently almost on it's knees. It's being forced to drive the axe through some heads and consolodate some of it's internal corporate structure. I've been watching this one very closely. MicroSoft I'm sure has smelled the blood in the water and will soon pummel the limping Sony into submission. MicroSoft can afford to be patient and go slow...It will.

Before we explore all of possibilites and attempt 'proof of concept designs'...Lest not forgett that the current Power Grids in both the US and in Europe are barelt limping along themselves designed of antiquated technologies. Assuming power beams could be aligned to power farms on Earth for free and in mass quantities - We Humans are a spiecies that well are not very economical. In short our energy output would increase resulting in crashing both power grids to say the least.
