Why is the US market trying to get region-free players?
To me it is a matter of personal freedom. Even though I live in the US and may never purchase a non Region 1 DVD, I don't like the MPAA manipulating the market and creating an artifical demand.
I highly recommend Network Intrusion Detection : An Analysis Handbook. It has been reviewed on slashdot too. I have a lot of respect for Stephen Northcutt and his book is extrememly easy to read with lots of case studies.
I highly recommend this book. I enjoyed every minute of it and I feel that people can get a lot out of this book no matter what their security knowledge is.
Why not just buy ebay? They've already got a working product.:-)
I all seriousness, buying one will always be the faster route. Even if you have to modify someone else's product, buying theirs will reduce the time it takes for your programmers to create yours.
I'm not trying to troll and please don't take it as such...
This is the exact reason I started to use FreeBSD. I was tired of all of the extra junk and a coworker mentioned that with FreeBSD, I'd have complete control over everything installed and the dependencies and everything would be handled automatically. It's pure magic.
I know this is off the Linux topic, but I really wish the Linux distro people would take notice.
Your Athlon is not fully compatible, and my Pentium III will last longer. You are only looking at the short term.
Fully compatible to what? Why don't we talk about Intel changing standards and then you can tell me all about any incompatabilities. What about all of the bugs in the P3 chips? Have there been any of these bugs in the Athlon?
Do you honestly think Intel uses a better fabrication process to ensure longer life in their chips? Intel makes chips as cheaply as possible. AMD puts as much quality as possible into their Athlons in order to gain market share.

Sounds a lot like HAM Radio's Packet. :-)
What about personal recommendations for free Linux/FreeBSD High Availability?
I never thought I'd live to see *truthful* news coming from EFNet. :-)
Heck, why not decommercialize the .us TLD? :-)
If one decides to distribute Microsoft Windows 2000, what type of legal issues would one face, even if it is distributed in non-profit manner?
See the similarities?
Has anyone else gotten these?
That's why they make patents. :-)
I think Sun has a Platinum support level that comes after Gold. :-)
Tier
Here's the Amazon.com reviews too. :-)

Didn't the Federal Intern Agency put together something like this for the President?
Big thanks to the /. crew for the BSD Icon!
werd ;-)
But if they didn't "see" us post it, wouldn't it be hearsay? :-)
Nice thinking. :-)
P.S.
We ain't no Internet Service Provider
But isn't NASA a government funded "A-OK on the monopoloy" commercialized venture?
when they stop handing out ASCII keyboards. ;-)

Yes, and that's why I run FreeBSD-STABLE. It always works even after an upgrade to the latest sources.

Get a clue.
You, my friend, need more RAM!
