Its not so much that way in .uk. The majority of children's mobile access is via pay-as-you-go topup cards. If you want to move networks you just get a new SIM and top-up card and off you go - there is no contract. And we had number portability years ago so you can take your number with you (even on PAYT if you know who to speak to).

Actually everyone that sends/receives MMS uses WAP. I see this as being an attempt to stop MMS users from receiving pornographic MMS' more than browsing WAP porn (any phone capable of viewing porn will use direct internet browsing and not WAP 9 times out of 10). An MMS message triggers a WAP get for the MMS content - hence the need for the WAP APN to use MMS.

Now, back in the land of the free, we have no such rights...why? Because we pussed out. We decided not to pursue our DeCSS case and let stand a lower court ruling that banned it. Oh yeah, this was much better than what Jon did, namely stand up for himself in court.

What you actually did was overrule your individual rights in favour of protecting corporations - because the corporations control your politics.

The USA is and will forever be a corrupt regime because no one in your political climate can survive to stand for real rights, standards and morals. The scary thing is that from the outside the USA looks laughable, but on the inside everyone thinks everything is fine and dandy.

I can't see a way out of this mess anywhere on the horizon either - all those in the game benefit from the game.
  5. Proprietary Pish on MPlayer Alleges KISS Technology Violating GPL · · Score: 1

Its not a GPL violation. Ask them for the source and if they don't give it you and then you might have claims of violation of the GPL. Theres nothing in GPL that says the source must be published in some form - only that it is available upon request.
