  1. IE Only Web Applications on Redmondmag on Dumping IE · · Score: 2, Interesting

If and when IE does go by the wayside, what are all the companies who develop web apps for IE only going to do? And there are a lot of them. Stupid companies who develop web apps for one browser and not others, and I have worked on several projects like this, are going to find themselves up the proverbial shit creek without a paddle! Then again, it could mean all kinds of new jobs when they realize that their customers are not using IE nearly as much anymore and they have to upgrade their apps to actually be cross browser. Might be a nice windfall!

Yea, the liberal media... right. Even if you think of this movie as propaganda, which I don't, the release of it on television would just counterbalance all of the right wing controlled media, including FAUX News and all of the talking heads on the AM dial. The liberal media simply doesn't exist, or is in it's infancy (ie, Air America) in the same way that the ultra conservative media does. And before you get your panties in a bunch, CNN and NPR are hardly liberal bastions!

  3. Re:Holy crap! on Jobs to India -- A Broad Look · · Score: 1

Socialism is coming. As more and more people lose work or are relocated to lower paying work, the middle class will decline. It's already happening. The people will demand more socialized programs (healthcare, national savings account, increased social security, etc). And it's about f-ing time. For a good read to what to look for, check out Jeremy Rifkin's 1996-yes, 1996!- book The End Of Work. He basically predicts what has happened the past couple of years with outsourcing and what will come in the future. He even mentions an increase or more government funded and community organized social programs. Can someone say Linux?
