If people want to "vaccinate" themselves from drugs that they deem harmful, that's fine by me. However, even though I choose to abstain from drug use, I'd definitely not want to vaccinate myself. By vaccinating yourself, you're basically saything that your will is too weak to be able to avoid these 'vices'. And that might be fine for some people. As long as parents don't start vaccinating their children before they kids can think for themselves, and schools public schools don't require them alongside the other vaccines.
As much as I agree with the RIAA that piracy is wrong and should be stopped, things are getting ridiculous. Corporations shouldn't have this much power in government.
This is supposed to be a government by the people, for the people, but is now controlled by the corporations...
My guess would be that switchblades are (or feard to be) disproportionately used as weapons as opposed to useful purposes. The fact that they are easily concealable doesn't help them out either.
Even though this doesn't help us, just think of the corporations that are behind Linux and thus support the GPL. Not counting the SCO case, since that is a joke, noone has really attacked the GPL. And when they do, companies such as IBM with their impressive legal division will be able to back it up. As we all know, corporations certainly hold a lot of sway in the US.
Is it just me, or does ordering pizza from a web page on a cell phone seem like more work than necessary? Why not actually use the phone to call them up and place the order?
I'm not saying that the average user would have any application for that. All I'm saying, is that to some people, "10,000 time faster than broadband" explains to them the speed much better than any mention of GBs. They'll at least see that and possibly say "damn, that's FAST", as opposed to, what the hell are those gigawhatsits?
I think you're missing something important here. Not everyone who will read that article will necessary know what "6.25 gigabits per second" means. Someone like my mom would have no idea how that relates to anything, but by saying that it's 10,000 times faster than the average broadband connection, it's put into perspective. Now people with very little computer knowledge will be a little closer to understanding what this means. They just made this a little clearer for the less tech oriented croud.
Thank you very much for pointing this out to me. I hadn't heard of it yet and I went there and found some good punk and ska songs, but a lousy selection of hardcore. And the cd prices were generally around 12 dollars which seems pretty could compared to retail stores. So again, thanks for the heads up.

I think that's just a terrible idea. I have never killed anyone in my life, but I have definitely had thoughts about killing them. The implant you're suggesting would suppress my thoughts about killing and possibly even anger even though I'll never carry them out. That is a huge restriction on what I would hope everyone sees as a right to every human being to free thought. So I guess while I clearly agree that it would be more controversial, I completely dissagree that it would be more useful.
Actually, I don't think that Iron Maiden was stated to be punk, but the Deftones definitely were. Maybe I'm being a little picky for some people, but I sure wouldn't consider the Deftones punk. Not even close actually.
