  1. Re:Not native Quad core on Intel Takes Quad Core To the Desktop · · Score: 2, Informative

True, it is not native quad core. However AMD's first venture into quad-core will not be native either. In an effort to catch up to Intel, they will also be releasing a quad-core processor thats "taped together" as Intel's is.

I recently met with an Intel rep and they are very much pushing their new core architecture. Quad-core this year, Octo-core next.. Core count is the next clock speed. However one of it matters until the software manufacturers can take advantage of it, and very few server applications can at this point, let alone games.

http://www.apc.com/resource/include/techspec_index .cfm?base_sku=ISXT440MD12RMBL APC beat both Google and Sun to market on this one. This is one of the 'coolest' ideas I've ever seen. Park this in a lot and have a replacement datacenter on demand, or drive it around the country like the Russians used to do with the nukes.

I highly recommend Maxpedition bags and kit. Everything is heavy-duty nylon which makes the bags very solid. They also have pouches and pockets for everything you need, and nothing you don't.

I personally have the MPB (MultiPurpose Bag) and it has served me well carrying my various electronic equipment for nine months of business travel in 13 countries.

I think you missed the point, true that Google uses Linux, but thats not why the owners are billionaires. They are billionaires because the Google search engine is NOT open-source, and because the engine is so well designed. Companies will pay them to advertise on their site. If the google engine had been open-source, there would be dozens, if not hundreds, of "google" searches available, drastically thinning the amount of money generated from advertising.
